A group of Canadian women living with metastatic breast cancer are sharing their Living Legacies and, together with Canadian Breast Cancer Network (CBCN), raising awareness of this most serious form of the disease on Parliament Hill today. October 1 marks the a first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and these Canadian women along with Judy Foote, Member of Parliament for Random-Burin-St. George’s, Cathy Ammendolea, Chair of CBCN, Dr. Stephen Chia, Medical Oncologist and Chair, Provincial Breast Tumour Group, BC Cancer Agency are working to put a much-needed spotlight on metastatic disease. They are also highlighting Bill C-594, an Act Respecting a Canadian Metastatic Breast Cancer Day. The bill was introduced in April 2014 with the goal to mark October 13th as National Metastatic Breast Cancer Day in Canada.
