Here is The Lobby Monitor's weekly roundup of stories.
This week, we published new registration stories related to the budget implementation bill, rail cars, Privacy Act amendments, and more. We ran a story on March lobbying data, showing the Canadian Federation of Independent Business was most active with more than 20 reported communications. We also published our regular On Queen Street feature, with information about the new and incoming president of the Canadian Medical Association. Ted Menzies has also popped up in the registry as the head of CropLife Canada, even as he's still under the five-year cooling off period. The Lobby Monitor explains why. See these stories and more in our weekly version.
Don't forget to look at our weekly, sortable lists of new registrations and communications reports, which as usual will be published tomorrow. Also, please note our office is closed Friday and Monday, and that there will be no Morning Brief on Monday.
Readers: Send news tips, or information about upcoming lobby days and industry events, to The Lobby Monitor editor Simon Doyle at sdoyle@lobbymonitor.ca.
