The Association of Canadian Community Colleges and Nova Scotia Community College are co-hosts of the World Congress 2012 of the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics. The event, entitled "Driving the Global Economy," will stimulate dialogue on the profound influence of education on societies, economies and communities. Themes include: Advanced Skills for Economic and Social Development; Local and Global Innovation; Indigenous Peoples; Access for the Disadvantaged; Sustainability; Transformational Leadership.

Presenters at the event include Canada's Governor General David Johnston and Minister of International Cooperation Bev Oda.
