Child cancer survivor advocates for equal access to experimental treatments

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with Helena Kirk in 2017 during her visit to Ottawa. The 12-year-old Toronto cancer-survivor is advocating for support in the federal budget towards equal access to experimental cancer therapies for children. She returned to Ottawa this Dec. 12 to speak with Health Canada and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. (Photo courtesy of Sarah Calderwood).
